The Insource platform shows a trend amongst the top firms hires. Of the 19 lawyers hired by New Zealand\u2019s top six firms in the first quarter of 2021, 11 were returnees from overseas and of those 9 returned to their previous firm.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n As the end of the first quarter of 2021, we took a quick glance at the known new hires of the top six law firms to see where they\u2019re sourcing their talent. Of the 19 lawyers hired by those top firms most are returnees from overseas, (London, Australia and Singapore), and of those returnees, 9 returned to their previous firm. Overseas is by far the most common source of new hires (11 lawyers), with the second most common source being Judges\u2019 clerks (3 lawyers), National firms (2 lawyers) and finally CBD firms, Boutique firms and Graduates (1 lawyer each).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
